Sauk Centre Bandshell in Sinclair Lewis Park
The Bandshell Mural is located on the bandshell in Sinclair Lewis Park. It is a 3D musical interpretation, as well as a likeness of Alan Raitor, a respected musician and music teacher in Sauk Centre.
Muralists Roger Reinardy and Mike Weisser, along with Roger’s sister Susan Hartigan helped this mural come to life. Muralists approached the city about creating this mural in the city park. City officials and several grants assisted in this project, as it also included restoration of the bandshell as well as the addition of better lighting.
Painted in 2017
This was a mural Roger had wanted to paint since he moved back to Sauk Centre from California. He loved the bandshell and the music in the beautiful park setting and had always thought a mural might attract more musicians, groups, and actors to use the bandshell.
